Holy Trinity Parish warmly welcomes you to join us at our weekly Adoration.
Thursdays from 4.00pm - 8.00pm
at St Catherine’s Church, 4 Buchan Street, Moorabbin.
Come and experience Jesus as he is truly present - body, blood, soul and divinity - in the consecrated host - the “Blessed Sacrament”.
You may ask: Why come to adoration? Because Jesus asks us in (Matthew 26:40). "Could you not watch one hour with me?"
What do you do in Adoration? A beautiful story told about St. John Vianney, the saintly pastor of Ars in France, is that he often saw a farmer sit in the back of the parish church. The saint took notice that the farmer would spend long periods there before the Eucharist. Finally, one day, the saint asked him what he did during his time of adoration. The farmer simply responded, "I look at Him and He looks at me."
Why not come and rest a while in his loving Presence? Come, stay for a while or even an hour. Cast all your burdens at the foot of his cross and he will give you rest.
In the midst of all the turmoil and uncertainty that is taking place in the world today, are you feeling stressed?
Do you feel pulled in different directions?
Have you lost a job?
Loss of a loved one?
Family challenges?
Been diagnosed with an illness?
Feeling depressed? betrayed?
Experiencing inner rage or unforgiveness?
Do not despair. For our Lord is close by. His Divine Radiance in the Blessed Sacrament will ease your pain and soothe your soul.
“If you believe, you can see the Glory of God “ (Mark 9:23).
A parishioner, who lost her memory and voice, due to the trauma of domestic violence, experienced healing after spending time before the Blessed Sacrament. Our Lord restored her memory and taught her how to break the cycles of generational abuse with his unconditional Love.
“Another parishioner, who works in the health industry, was totally stressed before she came to Adoration and on leaving felt a deep sense of peace”.
Are you willing to take a chance and surrender everything to Jesus? He is willing to transform you, your family and loved ones, from deep within. Talk to him as you would to your best friend. He will not abandon or disappoint you. He will listen to all your cares and concerns. He will teach and guide your every step. Openly expect to receive his guidance as you say, “Jesus, I Trust in you.”
Even if you may not understand how, where and when, a miracle will unfold in his Divine Timing.
After casting all your burdens on him, start thanking him for all the blessings that he has already brought about in your life. Simply the Gift of Life, the gift of your breath, your eyes, hands, feet...
a grateful and thankful heart can lift the soul from darkness and depression into the Christ’s light in the present moment.
Here are what the saints say about their experience of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament:
St John Paul II: This is the wonderful truth, my dear friends: the Word, which became flesh two thousand years ago, is present today in the Eucharist.
St Teresa of Calcutta: When you look at the crucifix, you understand how much Jesus loved you then. When you look at the Sacred Host, you understand how much Jesus loves you now.
St Padre Pio: We must always have courage, and if some spiritual languor comes upon us, let us run to the feet of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament, and let us place ourselves in the midst of the heavenly perfumes, and we will undoubtedly regain our strength.
St Francis de Sales: We must visit Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament a hundred thousand times a day.
