Holy Trinity Parish is less than a month away from the start of the ALPHA 2024 program and the ALPHA coordinating team are already excited with the number of interested people. Our "Come and See Introductory Night" will take place on April 10th and we need your help.. we would like anyone who is thinking about attending, to fill out an expression of interest form and drop it in the boxes provided in each of the three churches. This will provide the team some valuable information on determining when the best time is to hold the ALPHA sessions as well as estimating numbers for catering. Forms can be found within the bulletin, near ALPHA notice boards, or you can simply ask anyone wearing an “Ask Me” badge. We just ask that forms are returned by March 24th.
Are you still wondering - What is ALPHA??
ALPHA sessions are explorations of the big issues of life and faith, unpacking the basics of Christian belief. "Who is Jesus?", "Why and how do I pray?" or "How does God guide us?" are just a few of the questions addressed. Come along to one or all sessions to connect, share or simply listen. Strengthen your own relationship with Jesus or bring along friends and awaken the Holy Spirit within all of us!

Taylor Baron, a student from St Catherine’s faith community, explains…
"You might be wondering, 'What is Alpha?': Alpha is a program designed to encourage people of all walks of life to explore and discuss core concepts of the Christian faith with others. Whether you've attended church your entire life or you've never heard of Jesus, we encourage you to join us. Just as Jesus welcomes us with open arms, so too do we welcome you to share a meal and come and see what it's all about. You may be surprised just how enriching and engaging this program is! "
According to Drusilla Gonsalvez, retiree from St Peter’s Faith Community…
"When I was invited to be part of the Alpha group for our Parish I was not sure what to expect and I was skeptical. Over the years I have been involved and participated in various courses on religious leadership, personal development, discussions, and reflection but this was a different experience for me. From the start, I felt a call to be part of Alpha and to come to experience the Love of God.
Through my involvement, I have experienced a deepening of my Christian faith and enrichment of my relationship with God. I have encountered Jesus and the gifts of the Spirit through the sharing of a meal with others, listening to Alpha talks, and having open conversations and honest discussions about living out faith. I have a deepening understanding of how God works and guides us; the humanity of Jesus and His teachings, the guidance of the Holy Spirit, and the gifts we have been given to spread the Good News."
In the Alpha sessions, we have prayed through song, quiet reflection, traditional prayer, words, and having a weekend together for friendship and listening to each other’s stories. It is an experience I am called to share with others as God lives in me by His Holy Spirit. I have a deep personal conviction that I am someone who follows and puts my faith in Jesus, and I am a child of God who is loved.
