Hello my name is Gerard Mckernan, called different names “Gerry, Gerard, Gev as well as LAB(?). I grew up in Balwyn, my primary school is the only education institution still existing (one became a zoo, another the Diocesan Centre (is there a difference?) You are right when you say we never stop learning. I was born 19th December 1945, unfortunately the cricket Gods kept their special gift for Ricky Ponting exactly 29 years later. (I shall speak sternly to them one of these days). I was ordained in 1971 (yes a significant year for the most successful football club of the modern era) Werribee, East Doncaster, Chaplaincy at Austin Hospital, Belgrave, Mordialloc, Mulgrave Administrator at various parishes, PP Endeavour Hills, Vermont South and Templestowe. At each of these I have received overflowing love and support which in my retirement fills me with gratitude.
