I'm Fr John O'Reilly. I was born in the West of Ireland in 1937 raised in the country area bounded by the sea with my 11 siblings. I completed my primary schooling and 5 years of secondary before joining the seminary for 6 years. I was Ordained June 4th, 1961. I decided to migrate and volunteer in Melbourne serving as an Assistant Priest at St Patricks Mentone for 11 months then moved to Holy Eucharist Chadstone for 4 years. I was made Parish Priest of Sacred Heart St Albans where I served for 50 years. St Albans back then had a big population of migrants; 50 different nationalities and I was seen as one of them. I enjoyed working with the people building schools and colleges and the Mercy Care Mission for the elderly and dying.
