Fr Peter Matheson

I am Fr Peter Matheson. Born at Maryborough (Vic) February 1944. Attended state primary schools in the Wimmera and Gippsland. Most secondary education was at De La Salle College, Malvern. Seminary studies at Werribee, Glen Waverley and Rome. Ordained Melbourne 22 August 1970.
Assisted in various parishes (St Mary’s Geelong, St Columba’s Elwood, St Therese’s Essendon). Assistant Director RE Melbourne Archdiocese 1973-1979, doctoral studies Rome 1979-1982, Head of RE Dept Mercy Campus ICE/ACU Ascot Vale 1982-1993, parish priest St Francis Xavier Montmorency 1994-2007, and Our Lady of the Assumption Cheltenham 2007-2019. Retired May 2019. Part time chaplain still at Kilbreda and St Bede’s Colleges.
