Im Fr Thinh Nguyen. I was born in Saigon, Vietnam, in 1973 and immigrated to Australia with my parents and siblings in 1985, when I was 13 years old. We are profoundly grateful to the Australian people for their warm welcome and support for refugees from a war-torn country. My family feels incredibly proud and blessed to call Australia our home. Raised in a traditional Catholic family with twelve siblings, I faced a significant loss when my older brother died in a car accident in 2016. This tragic event was a profound shock to my family and a heartbreaking experience. I was ordained a priest on September 16, 2006, alongside three other priests from my year. Over the years, I have served in various roles: as an Assistant Priest at St Peter Chanel, Deer Park; Parish Priest at All Saints, Fitzroy; Chaplain at Melbourne University; Formator at Corpus Christi College; and Parish Priest at St Scholastica, Bennettswood. Currently, I serve as the Coordinator of Clergy, Life, and Ministry in the Archdiocese, focusing on the care and wellbeing of priests within the Archdiocese. In my free time, I enjoy swimming and walking to work. I am looking forward to being a part of the Holy Trinity Community.
